DAY 7:  22nd May 2014       –    visit day 6:

Very early depart as we travel to the Malelane Kruger Park Gate.

We travel via Swaziland, which is the shortest route.

The border posts transfers are quick and easy.

The speed limits and potholes make the morning a very long drive.

The road between Swaziland and Malelane takes us through densely occupied Villages / Towns

A quick stop at the Lone Tree Butchery where Glen treats us all to the best biltong in South Africa.

We arrive at Melelane at 13:00, where the group meet with Glen Retiefs parents.

A two hour drive through to the Afsaal picnic site for a late lunch,

HornbillThen another two hour drive to the Numbi Gate, and the Village where we will sleep for the night.

We sleep with Judas and his family who operate a Creche for young children, sleeping in the Creche.

Here we have supper together, and a mutual sing-song sharing some of our cultures.

We are all happy to get to bed early after two late nights in St Lucia.

Cedric comments:

This day was a long day for a group of students who are not typical sightseers.

Nettie and I travel down to Ncume today, 25th June, visit with the community, and then we are going to travel to Matiyani checking the options.

Our thoughts are that we will stop for a night at the Hlane Game Park, (we passed through it en route) and take a break, getting near the Rhinos and Elephants, plus a look at the lions.

We will look at this option, and how we get through to Sigaqulu from Hlane.

Dear Group, please send me a few pics for the Creche evening, my camera lost the file between St Lucia and Sigaqulu..

Day 8, coming:
